About RSO Korea

History

Founded in 2021, Retiree Support Overseas Korea (RSO Korea) is an independent, non-profit Information Resource Portal created to support U.S. military retirees, veterans, surviving spouses, and their families living in Korea.

What began as an effort to collect frequently requested retiree information has evolved into a centralized knowledge base designed to help the retiree community navigate life in Korea. Our goal is simple: provide reliable, easy-to-find information from a wide variety of sources in one convenient location.

RSO Korea is not affiliated with the Department of Defense, U.S. Forces Korea, or any government agency. The site is built and maintained by retirees and veterans living in Korea, drawing upon decades of personal experience, community involvement, and cooperation with numerous organizations that support the retiree community.

Information is gathered from retiree council meetings, military and government agencies, community organizations, official publications, and the firsthand experiences of retirees and veterans throughout Korea.

As laws, regulations, benefits, and local procedures change, RSO Korea continues to evolve. The site is regularly updated to help ensure information remains accurate, relevant, and useful. Community feedback plays an important role in that effort, and suggestions for corrections, updates, or new content are always welcome. Please contact us if you have information that may help improve this resource.
