Flying in and Out of Korea & Space-A

Korea has world-class airports, Incheon IAP is one of the best in the world, and growing. The South Korean air transport industry is regarded as one of the most efficient industries in the world and continues to grow strongly and steadily.

Space Available (Space-A)

Space Available (Space-A) travel allows authorized passengers to occupy Department of Defense (DoD) aircraft seats that are surplus after all Space Required (Space-R) passengers have been accommodated. Space-A travel costs nothing but is allowed only on a non-mission interference basis. Retirees can fly Space-A Internationally. 100% Disabled American Veteran ID cardholders cannot fly Internationally.  They can only fly Space-A within the U.S., Alaska and Hawaii. A complete listing of eligible passengers is contained in DOD INSTRUCTION 4515.13 AIR TRANSPORTATION ELIGIBILITY https://www.esd.whs.mil/Portals/54/Documents/DD/issuances/dodi/451513p.pdf

Osan AB: The Air Mobility Command (AMC) Terminal at Osan AB has routine flights that retirees can catch Space-A hops on. Read the latest Space Available Passenger information on their website at https://www.amc.af.mil/AMC-Travel-Site/Terminals/PACOM-Terminals/Osan-AB-Passenger-Terminal/. You can sign-up for Space-A travel online using the AMC form at https://www.amc.af.mil/AMC-Travel-Site/AMC-Space-Available-Travel-Page/Space-Available-Email-Sign-up-Form/.

In case you recall from years ago, there are NO MORE shuttle busses from the Dragon Hill Lodge (DHL) to Incheon. There are base taxi's that will take you, which is the most popular method from the DHL these days. It costs approx. $60.

https://www.flightconnections.com/airports-in-south-korea-kr

The Wikipedia link lists many different types of airports in Korea to include Civil and Military/Civil Dual Use airports. As with anything Wiki related, the accuracy may not be perfect, so research well.

The FlightConnections link above lists 15 airports in South Korea, and may be a bit more accurate.  Clicking on an airport will show you an overview of all flight routes and scheduled flights of that airport.
